Frost Flower

On these frosty days in Alberta, a winter workshop needs to provide material for practicing macro photography indoors. I like to use orchids because their insect-like appearance provides a good subject for experimenting with techniques. The weather has also provided some beautiful frost patterns on the window, and after shooting some of those I began to wonder: how they would look if layered together?

Looks great – it would also look good with landscapes, trees, etc.

I do have some other projects up my sleeve, which I hope to get into this winter. I don’t like to spend too much time with Photoshop though…much to learn.
